Blake Williams' Red Capriccio is a tripartite, anaglyph found-footage film that conflates the aesthetics of eighteenth- and nineteenth-century capriccio paintings with the musical structures of Stravinsky's and Tchaikovsky's capriccio compositions. Paradoxically atmospheric and slightly diffused, the crescendos and glissandos emanate from this contemporary dystopian vision ignited by a nervy Chevy Caprice police vehicle.
